About Us

What are your new policies since COVID?
  • Please inform us via phone and email prior to your service if you (or someone in your household) has been experiencing any flu or cold like symptoms, or has been exposed to COVID-19, or has tested positive for COVID-19. If you or your household member have/or are suspected to have COVID-19, if more than 24hrs notice is given, no cancel fee will be charged. Less than 24hrs notice, a $100 fee will be charged. Otherwise our regular cancel fees will apply (see our FAQ below on billing and fees).
  • We understand that a lot is in flux and is frequently changing regarding COVID mandates. When masks and distancing are activated, and/or if you have not been vaccinated, please have a general plan of how you (and your household) will maintain 6ft social distancing during the cleaning (ie: something like – you will leave or stay in one room during cleaning) and please insure you wear a mask when you’re around our Cleaner.
  • Our Green Cleaners wear reusable masks for the duration of the service (unless a health condition prohibits them from safely wearing a mask) when mandated by King County and/or when not vaccinated.
  • Our company does not require neither our staff nor our clients to be vaccinated. We wish to find a healthy balance between the laws, mandates, personal health and body choices, and to offer respect to our staff, community and clients.
  • Please understand, we have shrunk in size as a result of COVID *and* we are following the law regarding how we schedule staff/how we handle sending staff to homes if there is a potential illness or sickness. As such: we no longer offer a specific Cleaner or Cleaners. The way we schedule has changed and we do not accommodate special requests for specific Cleaners any longer. Thank you for your understanding.
  • Our Green Cleaners wear disposable gloves throughout the duration of the service.
  • Our Green Cleaners are provided with hand-sanitizer and wash their hands regularly.
  • Our Green Cleaners use clean cleaning cloths and mop heads for every home.
  • Our equipment is sanitized after each use.
  • Our Green Cleaners will stay at least 6’ away from you.
  • Our Green Cleaners take their temperature each morning to make sure they are not feeling any signs of illness; if they are feeling sick at all, they will stay at home and may choose to use their Sick Pay if they desire.
  • We do not offer a reschedule discount if we need to cancel a service because of a Cleaner sickness. The current pandemic and safety requirements are outside of our control – and for the safety of our staff, clients and communities, we must err on the side of caution.
What kinds of services does Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ offer and what is your service area?
View our SERVICES page for more information, or give us a call at 206-307-2270.

We do offer eco-safe house cleaning, maid services, and office cleaning services. This includes maintenance cleaning, deep cleaning, move-out/in cleaning, and post-construction fully finished/light-dust new construction/remodel cleaning.

We do not clean anything exterior, nor do we go above a one-step step-stool (no cleaning anything over 7ft). We do not offer bio-hazard/death/toxic clean clean up services (we do not clean human/pet waste) nor do we offer post-construction/remodel new construction clean up services while your contractors are still working in the home (IE make sure they are done before you schedule our final cleaning). These services require specific training and operate under specific regulations. If you are not sure if the service you are looking for falls into the services we provide, give us a call.

We services ALL of Seattle and the following additional areas: Mercer Island, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond (we service some of Redmond but not all), Bothell, Shoreline Kenmore, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Burien, Seatac.

Is Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ licensed, insured, and bonded? And are you guys really LOCAL?
Absolutely! We are 100% locally owned and operated. And when we say “100% local” this means that we’re NOT franchised and that our revenue stays here in the Seattle area. Green Cleaning Seattle was started right here in Seattle and is locally-owned (by people that actually live in Seattle!). We are licensed, insured, and bonded – for your protection and for the protection of our Green Cleaners and company. All of our Green Cleaners are employees, not independent contractors (see below for more reasons to use our services). We were the winner of the 2014 BBB Western Washington Business of the Year Award – see HERE. And one of three finalists for the 2014 King County Small Business (“Green Business”) Award, see HERE. We were also a finalist for the Best Green/Sustainable Business in King County for 2016! AND we were a finalist in the Chinook Book’s Heart of Seattle Award for 2018, see HERE. We were also the winner of the King County Small Business (“Green Business”) Award for 2018. Look for our trademarked vacuum logo and tagline “From Funky to Fresh, We’ll Clean up Your Mess!™” & “Greener Than Just the Products we use™” to know you’ve found US!
Can you tell me more about your staff?
Our ABOUT US page provides more information about Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ and staff. Our office is located on Aurora Ave N in the Fremont area of Seattle.
Can you tell me more about how you hire? And if your Green Cleaners have passed a background check?
All of our staff members are over-the-table employees and have been meticulously chosen by our company. All of our employees:

  • are legally employed with our company (which means that your dollars stay local and go back into our local economy) and all State & Federal taxes are paid on them;
  • are licensed, bonded and insured by our company;
  • (before hire) have been interviewed twice;
  • (before hire) have had a reference check from at least 3 professionals (employers, pastors, professors, supervisors) that know/knew them;
  • (before hire) have passed a background check through HireRight & a Driving Record Release from the DOL;
  • have been trained and are regularly re-trained and evaluated

Who is that person with the clipboard taking notes?
If you see one of our staff members reviewing the work of one of our Green Cleaners that is at your service, that’s one of our Lead Green Cleaners and he or she is performing a quality check on your Green Cleaner – and your service. We do schedule periodic on-site evaluations, which help to insure that you are receiving the best quality service and that your home or office is cleaned to detail. We do this to help insure that your Green Cleaner doesn’t miss anything and is following company policy. Our onsite quality checks have nothing to do with your specific Green Cleaner, rather we do these drop-ins to make sure that all of our Green Cleaners are providing excellent quality service.
I have a question. Who do I ask?
Of course, if you have any questions, comments or special requests, please do not hesitate to call or email the Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ office! We’re here to make your life easier. Call us or email us at customerservice@greencleaningseattle.dev.s360.is or 206.307.2270.

Service Questions

Is there anything that I need to do before my Green Cleaner arrives?
If you have signed up for The Standard Clean or The Deep Clean service, please try to have dishes out of the sink/off the counters and remove clutter from the areas to be cleaned. We ask that you do this so that we can devote as much time as possible to cleaning your home or business.

If you have signed up for the Move-out/Move-in cleaning service (and you would like the interior of your freezer cleaned), please be sure that your freezer has been in de-frost mode for at least 24 hours before your scheduled service. Also, if you have signed up for the Move-out/Move-in cleaning service (and you would like the interior of your oven cleaned), please note that there is currently not a natural oven cleaning product on the market. You will need to turn on the self-clean feature at least 24 hours before your scheduled service. If your oven is self cleaning, we can utilize this feature for you, however, and wipe the interior out. Please let us know if you would like for us to wipe out your oven.

I have a pet. Is this okay?
Yes! Absolutely. We love pets (check out our ABOUT US page to read about our pets). However, if you have a dog (or dogs), unless you will be home, and/or unless your pet is completely comfortable with strangers, please try to have your dog out of the area that our Green Cleaners will clean. For safety reasons, (unless you will be home and/or unless your pet is completely comfortable with strangers) we ask that Fido be removed from the immediate cleaning areas. We also suggest that you let us know where you store dog treats (so that we can bribe Fido if needed!). And, please us know if your pet(s) are indoor-outdoor or indoor-only.
How will my Green Cleaner get in if I will not be home?
Many of our clients are not home and are at work during the time that we provide service. There are several options regarding how we may enter the home. Please talk to our office about options and to decide on a method for your Green Cleaner to enter your home/office (see below for some “how to enter” options). Please note: information regarding how to enter must be confirmed through our office at least 48 hrs before your scheduled service (excluding weekends and holidays). If our Green Cleaner needs to wait to enter the home/office, wait time is billed time. If an exception is made, and we are able to accept your key, there will be a $50 handling fee.

Keys are accepted for commercial clients; if you are not a commercial client, you may:

  • Leave a key for us in a specific location (and update our office on the location)
  • Attach a lock box to your door knob (and update our office on the combo)
  • Provide our office with the combination for your garage door
  • Arrange for your building manager or concierge to let our Green Cleaner inside (let your building manager or concierge know we are “Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™”)

The BEST (we really do believe!) way to go is keyless. We HIGHLY recommend a keyless digital lock. It will be one of the best investments you can make, and you’ll never lock yourself out. If you do have a keyless digital lock, you can create a code just for us as well. We recommend the brand Schlage. If you want to do a lockbox, the lockbox that we suggest is the Master Lock 5400D Select Access Key Storage Box. Please be sure to update our office with the location & the code at least 24hrs (excluding weekends/holidays) prior to your next service date.

If your Green Cleaner cannot enter the home/office upon arrival, a cancellation fee will be billed. Please see below for our cancellation policy.

Overall, the service I received was great, but there is something that I am not completely happy about. What do I need to do to get it fixed?
If something was missed in one of our standard cleaning service packages, and you are not satisfied with your house or office cleaning, please notify our office within 24hours of the cleaning and we will send the team back out – at our expense – to correct the problem. Please note, if you book by the hour and not up to our guidelines (IE if the service is “capped” – if the time needed to complete the service is limited and we are not allowed the time needed to complete), we do NOT guarantee the service. Also, we will email you a survey shortly after your first service. Please offer us your feedback when you receive it. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We find that great communication in the very beginning of setting up service insures a smooth set-schedule service – and is a great foundation from which we may develop our relationship. Also, if something is broken your home by one of our Green Cleaners (we do our best to be very careful but sometimes small accidents happen), we will contact you right away and let you know. And if you send us in the replacement receipt within 30 business days, we will send you a refund check within 14 business days.
Will I have the same Green Cleaner every time?
We try our best to send the same Green Cleaner to your service every visit. However, we also give our employees the flexibility to adjust their availability as needed to help meet the other needs in their lives – such as school schedules, child care, volunteer work, etc. When our Green Cleaners change their availability, that does mean we will have to assign a new Green Cleaner to the services they are no longer able to do. However, rest assured! – all of our employees are just that: employees (not independent contractors). We do not guarantee the same Cleaner each visit; this just isn’t possible. However, all of our Cleaners are reliable; they are all trained, retrained and supervised by our company. They’re all excellent & consistent Cleaners.
Do I need to supply anything?
Just what you want us to clean! Our Green Cleaners bring all of our own, company approved, biodegradable and eco-friendly cleaning products. In fact, our Green Cleaners cannot use most products that you provide. Please see BELOW under “What products do you use?” for more details on what we can and do use.
Please note, also, for insurance and liability reasons, our Green Cleaners cannot clean anything above 7 ft and cannot climb higher than a one-step step-stool. If you would like your Green Cleaner to use a one-step step-stool, you will need to provide this item.
What do you mean, you can’t service my home?
Although we rarely encounter a situation where we have to refuse service to a client, if our Green Cleaners continually feel uncomfortable working for a client and/or if the client harasses or solicits our company and/or Green Cleaners, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

Products

What about Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ is “green”?
Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ uses products that are non-toxic and eco-friendly. We neither use products that contain chemicals nor artificial fragrances. We also recycle and reuse as many products as possible, such as our cleaning towels (they are cleaned and sanitized after each use); and we recycle and reuse our spray bottles and cleaning containers as much as possible. Our vacuums are low-noise and Energy Star approved.

The power consumption of the Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ office is net-zero on an annual basis and our solar panels were installed by another local green business, SolTerra. Our office is also furnished with Energy Star approved appliances, eco-friendly flooring, and low VOC paint. Stone Soup Gardens installed our raingarden and 1320 gallon cistern in the summer of 2014. In 2016, we added honey bees to our office. And we’re also stoked to say that in the Spring of 2018 we invested in our electric-assist cargo bikes! We’re the only cleaning company in the Pacific NW that is making the move to a carbon-free transit fleet. And this Spring (2019) we just installed a book library in front of our office.

The Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ office supports the Washington Toxics Coalition and the Organic Consumers Association and other organizations that are working to create awareness about green practices. We also only advertise locally: through The Stranger, KEXP, The Chinook Book, etc.

All of these things together mean that our business not only uses “eco-friendly” cleaning products – but also (and very importantly!) strives to keep our local economy and community dollars circulating locally and within our community.

What products do you use?
Our main product line is Biokleen. We also Ecover products. Our vacuums are Miele canister vacuums, which are low-noise, light-weight, and Energy Star approved. However, our vacuums do NOT have a beater bar. This means you will not see vacuum tracks in your carpeting after we vacuum.

Please note, our Green Cleaners can ONLY use our company approved products. We do have the following exceptions, whereby you can provide the below noted products, if you desire (note: our Green Cleaners cannot use products that you provide unless they are listed below):

Stainless Steel Polish: we use Biokleen and a soft towel, drying well, for steel; however, 100% natural Lemon essential oil (we will only use and approve our Cleaners to use the brand, Aura Cacia) works well for this purpose. If you would like for us to use 100% natural Lemon essential oil, you can purchase it HERE. We also suggest Earth Friendly Stainless Steel Polish, which you can purchase HERE. Just let our office know where it will be stored in your home & that you would like for us to use it.

Furniture Polish: we use Biokleen and a soft towel normally. However, we can also use Earth Friendly Furniture Polish, which you can purchase HERE. Just let our office know where it will be stored in your home & that you would like for us to use it.

Marmoleum Floor Cleaner: if you have Marmoleum and would rather that we use the Forbo Floor Cleaner, rather than Ecover Floor Cleaner, you can purchase Forbo Marmoleum Floor Cleaner and let our office know where it will be stored in your home & that you would like for us to use it.

Bona OR BioShield Floor Cleaner: we do not personally recommend Bona products; however, we can use your Bona Floor Cleaner if you desire. WE CANNOT USE THE BONA FLOOR POLISH, HOWEVER. Please note: the Bona Floor CLEANER is different than the Bona Floor POLISH, although both bottles look very similar. We suggest BioShield Floor Cleaner instead of Bona Floor Cleaner. You can purchase this product HERE. It is great for wood, bamboo, cork, linoleum, ceramic, porcelain, and stone tiles! If you would like for us to use this product, please let our office know where it will be stored in your home.

Murphy’s Oil Soap: our Ecover Floor Soap is recommended over Murphy’s Oil Soap, however, our Green Cleaners are allowed to use Murphy’s Oil Soap. If you would like for us to use this product, please let our office know where it will be stored in your home.

Dr Bronners: we approve all products from the Dr Bronners line.

Paperstone Brand Cleaner and Rejuvenator: we approve all products from the Paperstone Brand Line.

You may also instruct our Green Cleaners to use your cotton or microfiber towels, non-scratch all-purpose sponges, regular brooms, and basic twist mops. However, we cannot use tools such as a steam cleaner or other equipment that our Green Cleaners have not been previously professionally trained on. Also, we cannot use the cleaning solutions/powders/liquids (other than those noted above) that you provide. We kindly ask that you do not ask our Green Cleaners to use products other than the ones we provide, or the ones listed above.

Scheduling

How do I make an appointment or get a quote for a green cleaning service?
Use the GET A QUOTE link at the top of the page, or give us a call at 206-307-2270
What if I cancel my service less than 72hrs before the scheduled day and time?
When a service is canceled less than 72hrs in advance, this limits – and many times prevents – our ability to book the slot with another service. IF YOU NEED TO RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL, our office requires at least 72hrs notice (from the start of your arrival window) for set schedule clients, or 48hrs of notice (from the start of your arrival window) for one time service clients, to avoid a cancellation fee.

Services canceled within a 24-72hr time-frame will be billed a $50 cancellation fee. Upon-arrival cancellations and cancellations of within 24hrs will be billed at the full cost of service. We do understand that natural disasters do sometimes occur and we can honor emergency situations with prompt documentation.

Keep in mind: we still pay our Green Cleaners (and we cannot re-book the slot) when they arrive to your home and we get locked out or you sent us home and/or when you cancel within 24hrs. Therefore, under 24hrs cancel is billed at full cost.

Late payments incur a $25 fee per 10 days past due and will be turned over to collections after 45 days. At 90 days past due, you will be reported to credit reporting agencies and this will impact your credit score. Please note: once a bill is past due, and is turned over to collections, we are unable to reverse this action. Please communicate with us if you are having problems getting your bill up to date. Pay your bill at the time of service/service completion to avoid additional charges (and check your spam folder if you don’t see an invoice).

If I am on a set schedule program, can I change my service/date time?

We have two different hourly rates: “Set Schedule” hourly rates and “Set Schedule FLEX” hourly rates. We do have a limit to how frequently service dates/times can be changed. If you are a set schedule client (weekly, every other week, or every four weeks), you may change your service date or time up to two (2) times every six (6) months. If you make changes to your set schedule service program more than twice every six months, you will be charged a $30 fee per change (cancel/reschedule/etc). Set Schedule FLEX rates are slightly higher, however with this option you can change your service schedule up to once per month with no additional fees.

I leave for work at 8:30am. Can my Green Cleaner to arrive before then?
Please remember, other larger professional cleaning services (such as Merry Maids and the Maid Brigade) offer a start time of between 9a-5pm (that means they don’t give a start time at all!). Our morning start time is between 8-10am and our afternoon start time is between 12-2pm. We have over 9000 clients in Seattle and over 40 Green Cleaners. We also service multiple clients each day (and battle Seattle traffic like true warriors!), so we need to have some flexibility in when our Green Cleaners arrive. If you won’t be home when your cleaner arrives, please see below for options.
I need to make a change to my cleaning service program (such as change the location of my key or change the date/time of my service). What should I do?
So that your Green Cleaner can focus on cleaning your home or office, please direct billing, service program requests/updates, and questions and requests directly to our office. Your Green Cleaner is not authorized to make changes to your service file (the information emailed to you prior to your Green Cleaner’s arrival), so please direct these changes and updates directly to our office. Please note that we do require at least 48hrs from the start of your arrival window (excluding weekends and holidays) to make changes to your service program, such as update your entry information. We need this time to insure that there is enough time to update your file and your Green Cleaner with the new information.

IF YOU NEED TO RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL, our office requires at least 72hrs notice (from the start of your arrival window) for set schedule clients, or 48hrs of notice (from the start of your arrival window) for one time service clients, to avoid a cancellation fee (see below).

I am on an every other week Standard Clean service program that is locked in at the minimum service of 2.5hrs per visit. This seems to be almost the perfect amount of time, but lately my Green Cleaner has been getting done a bit earlier. Since I can’t book for less time than 2.5 hrs, what should I do?
You are welcome to leave your Green Cleaner an “if there is extra time” list on the kitchen counter. Although we can’t guarantee that your Green Cleaner will have the time to get to the extra items on the list, if your Green Cleaner does have extra time, s/he will refer to the list and work off of it. Please keep in mind (see above) that we do bill in 15 minute increments, rounded up. If there is something that you would like for us to consistently do on your service, please email our office and we will update your file going forward.
I am on an every other week Standard Clean service program that is locked in at 2.5 hrs per visit. This seems to be almost the perfect amount of time, but my house has been a bit messier lately and I feel like my Green Cleaner may need more time. What will happen if my Green Cleaner needs a little more time, but I already have a “locked in” rate/time?
Occasionally – even on set schedule “locked in” services – certain areas of the home (which do not need a Deep Clean each visit) do need extra time to maintain and to do a deeper clean on. We want to maintain your home as best as possible while providing you with the most convenient service and the best prices. We strive to streamline our service checklists and to lock in client time/rates; however, your service time may vary every couple of months between 15-45 minutes. In such cases, we will email you and let you know what we needed the extra time for and we will send you an email invoice to be paid at the next visit.
At the time of booking, I was quoted that my service quote “range” would take 4-5hrs. But now that my Green Cleaner has arrived, I would like to limit my service to 3 or 3.5hrs. Is that okay?
No. Once we book your service and send out your Green Cleaner, we have already “reserved” this time for your service and you will be charged for the quoted service range UNLESS the home is 1. more maintained or 2. smaller than originally noted and we over quoted you. In this case, you will only be charged for the actual time needed to complete your original service call. Since we do still need to pay our Green Cleaners for the minimum time quoted, we do ask that you do not request to reduce your quote/service on arrival.

Billing

How much will it cost to clean my home or office?
Probably less than you think! Please use the GET A QUOTE link at the top of any page obtain a quote for your specific service request. The time/rate to clean a home or office depends on a few factors, namely: the size and condition of the home/office and the service program subscribed to. Our rates are per-person hour and billed in 15 minute increments, rounded up.

What’s more for your money? All of our staff are employees (not independent contractors). This means that they are all insured, bonded, and that our company pays State and Federal taxes on all of them. Everyone that works for Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ has passed a background check, a driving record check, a detailed reference check, and has been trained (and is regularly re-trained).

Our staff are also paid for drive time and our company provides regular staff events such as massage, spa night, camping trips, and weekly yoga classes & monthly acupuncture treatments – as well as Sick Pay & Health Insurance. Our company also provides all of the eco-friendly cleaning supplies needed to clean your home.

So, when you hire our company, you can be assured that your dollars are not only staying local and that your Green Cleaner is being paid over the table, but also that everyone that works for Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ is a reliable and safe individual that is paid (and treated) well and fair.

How do I pay for the cleaning service?
We accept checks (make out to Green Cleaning Seattle and leave on kitchen table or counter), cash, and credit cards via Paypal (+ 3.5% service fee if paying by Paypal. Note: you do NOT need to have a Paypal account to pay by Paypal. Just do NOT log in when you receive your invoice).

Full payment for service must be received immediately upon completion of service and before your Green Cleaner leaves. If payment is not given to your Green Cleaner at the end of service, you will be invoiced via email, a $5 billing fee will be applied, and payment will be due on receipt of invoice. Repetitive non-payments will be billed a $10 billing fee. Overpayments of $50 or less are applied as a tip to your Green Cleaner, so if you are unsure of your service cost, please contact our office. If your service estimate for your initial service is $700 or more, you will be required to pay a $500 deposit at the time of booking.

If you have a coupon, read the fine print. We do not combine coupons or discounts. The coupon expiration date is the date by which your service must be completed by. If you have a physical coupon, you must include it with deducted payment. If you have a digital coupon, you must email us a screenshot of the coupon having been redeemed.

I didn’t leave a payment at the time of service. How will I be billed?
PLEASE SUBMIT PAYMENT TO YOUR GREEN CLEANER AT OR BEFORE SERVICE COMPLETION. If you did not leave a payment at the time of service, understand that our billing department only sends out bills monthly. Once you receive your bill, there are two options for submitting payment. 1. Mail your payment to Green Cleaning Seattle | PO Box 70 | Mountlake Terrace WA 98043 or 2. Pay your invoice online when you receive it. You can pay via credit card as soon as you receive the invoice. Remember: you can pay via Paypal without having a Paypal account. Overpayments are applied as a tip to your Cleaner. Ask our office if you are unsure of your service cost; if you are invoiced, simply view your email invoice by clicking to open the invoice and see the service cost breakdown.

Invoiced bills/payment not left at time of service incur a $25 late fee per 10 day period past your service date and a $5 billing fee ($10 billing fee on repetitive non-payments). You are responsible for paying your bill on time. Accounts go to collections after 45 days past due. We are a small business, and we depend on timely payments.

You must be pre-approved by our billing department to NOT leave payment at the time of service/to be billed. Payment is due immediately upon the invoice being issued. Please note, we may sometimes offer billing for our set schedule commercial clients and our set schedule WEEKLY residential clients. However, do not assume that this is an option without prior office approval. Also, if you have been given a quote “range” (IE you’re not yet sure of your exact service charge) AND you will NOT be home at the end of the service, we may be able to bill you for your initial Deep Clean, or Move-in/out Clean, and/or your first & second set schedule Standard Cleans. These are the only exceptions for which we may be able to bill you, however, the above fees will still apply.

How does Green Cleaning Seattle – Otium-Maid Services™ charge? It is by the hour or by the job?
We charge by the hour and in 15 minute increments, rounded up.

When you book service with us, we will give you a quote “range” for the time that it will take to clean your home or office (for example, your service may be between 4-6hrs). Once we finish the service, we will know the exact time and you will be able to submit payment. Also, if you’re signed up for set schedule services, after the end of your second set schedule service, we will “lock in” your service length so you will know your service cost going forward.

Please note: our quotes are 90% accurate; however, there are cases – usually when the actual condition of the home/location doesn’t match what was indicated when requesting the quote and/or when more services are requested from our Green Cleaners – when the quote “range” we give you will need to be increased. In such cases, we will call you and email you to let you know.

Our Primary Service Area is Seattle, Shoreline, and LFP, and we have a 3 hour minimum (for initial) and 2.5 hour minimum (for set schedule) to service these areas. If you are located within our Extended Service Area, which is Mercer Island, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Bothell, Kenmore, Lynnwood, Edmonds, Burien, Seatac, a $15 per- Green Cleaner drive fee will be added to your bill and a 3 hour minimum applies to these areas.

If our Green Cleaner needs to wait to enter the home/office, wait time is charged time (please see above for instructions on how to enter).

Are parking fees added to my service total?
Yes, parking fees are added to your service total IF available free parking is more than 2 blocks from your home. The quote we give you via email or phone does not include parking fees because we are not always able to know if free parking will be available and where it is available. If free parking is not abundant in your area, but you have a suggestion on where your Green Cleaner should park, please contact our office at least 48 hrs (excluding weekends and holidays) and let us know. We will add the parking suggestion to your file, however, we cannot insure that your Green Cleaner will be able to park there (if the lot or area is already full). Keep in mind that 2017 statistics show that OVER 4000 PEOPLE ARE MOVING TO SEATTLE EVERY WEEK. This means that traffic and parking are becoming more and more difficult.

More Info on time added for Urban Parking, Concierge, and Paid Parking costs:
Looking for Urban Parking: If you have a residence in an urban/zoned/limited/garage/paid parking area, we charge (and we pay your Cleaner) for an additional 15 minutes per person per service for time spent looking for a parking spot.
Concierge: We charge (and we pay your Cleaner) for 15 minutes per service for coordinating with concierges/leasing offices.
Paid Parking costs: We will add the cost for parking to your final service total (and your Cleaner is reimbursed for this cost). All parking costs collected go directly to reimburse our staff. If we can’t find free parking on our first circle of the block, we will pay for parking. Sometimes parking lots can cost up to $30. If you live downtown, you probably already realize this 🙂
Parking in certain areas of town has become increasingly challenging to find. Current statistics show that approximately 4000 people per week are moving to Seattle.

My Green Cleaner did a great job and I would like to show my appreciation. Can you tell me more about tipping?
A tip is always appreciated – and goes directly to your Green Cleaner. A tip is a great way to show your Green Cleaner that you are happy with his or her work. Tips are not “rolled into” our hourly rate, so if you would like to tip your Green Cleaner, you may add the tip into your service total payment (and we will reimburse your Green Cleaner) OR you may tip your Green Cleaner directly. In the cleaning industry (unlike other service industries), it is more common to tip a flat rate as opposed to a percentage.

Here’s an example: a massage therapist or hairdresser is generally tipped between 15-20% of the service charge; whereas, a maid or mover is tipped a flat rate of $10 to $50+ per service. The range depends on the length and quality of work.

If you forgot to tip, you can send one electronically from the GRATUITY link at the bottom of our website.

Please note that our office does require at least 48hrs (excluding weekends and holidays) to make changes to your service program, such as add/remove a bathroom, etc. We need this time to insure that there is enough time to update your file and your Green Cleaner with the new information. IF YOU NEED TO RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL, our office requires at least 72hrs notice (from the start of your arrival window) for set schedule clients, or 48hrs of notice (from the start of your arrival window) for one time service clients, to avoid a cancellation fee (see above).
Do you offer any incentives for referrals?
You bet! If you refer a friend (or stranger!) or family member (and if that person books), you will receive a $35 coupon for your next service. Just make sure your referral mentions you at the time of booking. Also check out our Specials & Gift Cards page.

If you have any questions, please call or email our office.
